Saved People, Serve People
We believe the body of Christ is called to love others radically and impact the community where they find themselves. In Matthew 20:28, it is made clear that Jesus' purpose in coming to Earth was to serve others and to ransom his life for many. John 13:1-17 teaches that our Savior was willing to do whatever was necessary to serve others. Finally, Christ summarized all the commandments in two phrases: love God and love our neighbors as ourself (Mark 12: 30-31).
Loving and serving others is how God intends for His name to be made great and for our community to be changed for His glory!
Found People Find People
We believe that once we are found and saved by Christ, we will go out into the community and make disciples to advance the kingdom of God. In John 1:35-51 we see Andrew and Phillip bring Peter and Nathaniel to Christ so they can see how great He truly is.
The way God grows His Kingdom isn't by addition. It's by multiplication. He expects us as believers to go out into the world and spread His name and bring people into community so they can learn more about His goodness!
Changed People Change
At OneLove Church we understand that we are all messed up people. We all have sin and struggles that can only be redeemed through Christ. In other words, it is okay to not be okay! It's just not okay to stay that way.
Once we are saved by the grace of Christ, the Bible says we are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)! We believe that meeting Christ changes us in such a way that we now desire Him more than anything else. When we are saved the Holy Spirit gives us the strength to conquer all of the chains sin has on our life. God is more than faithful to redeem us and use us for His glory!
Growing Churches Grow
A church that is truly following Christ is going to make disciples. No ifs, ands, or buts. At OneLove Church we believe that each follower of Christ is called to make disciples and grow the Kingdom with the unique talents and places the Lord has positioned them!
In the book of Acts we see the church grow from a few hundred people to three thousand overnight! We believe that a healthy church is going to continually grow, both in souls being won for Christ but also by the members growing more mature in their faith!
Speak the same Language
No matter what we as individuals do, we have absolutely no power to change this community on our own. People and communities can only change through the power of the gospel.
In Genesis 11:6, we see a conversation between the members of the Trinity mentioning the power of the human race when we have the same vision and speak the same language. At Onelove Church, we firmly believe each of us need to hear and speak the gospel every day. Our motivation comes from being rooted in the truth of the gospel and reminding each other of this truth!
